Detailed itinerary.
Day 1: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park.
On the 1st day of the safari, depending on your location your safari guide from African Vacation Safaris, will pick you up from Entebbe International Airport or from your hotel in Kampala. He will welcome you and then brief you about the safari, after the safari you will start your journey to Queen Elizabeth national park that takes you approximately 6 hours’ drive from Kampala in the western Uganda with the stopover at Kayabwe for the equator experience. Along the way you will have the lunch en-route in Mbarara, after lunch you will proceed with your journey with the stunning views along the way until you reach Queen Elizabeth national park, with the en-route game viewing experience towards heading to your park. And once you arrive you will check in your lodge for dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.
Day 2: Game drive in Ishasha sector and afternoon boat cruise.
Wake up early in the morning and enjoy breakfast, after breakfast meet your safari guide and then head to Ishasha sector the known home for the attractive tree climbing lions to where you will spot the lions lying on the tree branches, and you will spot other animals across the sector. After the experience you will return back to the lodge for lunch.
After lunch you will return back for the afternoon boat cruise to where you will observe the different water species like large schools of hippos, crocodiles, and various water bird species. After the experience you will transfer to the lodge for dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.
Day 3: Transfer to Murchison falls national park.
On the 3rd day of the safari wake up early in the morning and enjoy your hearty breakfast. After breakfast you will check out from your lodge and then meet your safari guide and begin you journey to Murchison falls national park with the en-route game viewing experience to spot the early risers including the lions, buffaloes, leopards and among many others. Along the way you will have the en-route lunch in Masindi town, and after lunch proceed with your journey until you reach the park and then you will drive to the top of the falls. When you reach the falls you will witness the Nile River explode violently and form the powerful waterfalls, you will spot the various bird species and animal species across. After you will drive to the lodge, check in your lodge for dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.
Day 4: Game drive and boat ride on River Nile in Murchison falls national park.
After the breakfast, you will meet your safari guide and then drive to the park to the delta area and go for the game viewing experience that takes about 3 to 4 hours to spot the great wildlife like lions, elephants, Uganda Kobs, oribis, waterbucks, giraffes and various bird species. After you will return to the lodge for lunch.
After lunch you will go for the afternoon launch cruise on the along the Nile that offers you the exciting spectacular views at the bottom of the mighty Murchison falls, during the cruise you will sight crocodiles, hippos, water bird species on the river banks like bee-eaters, African fish eagles, cormorants and others. After the experience you will meet your driver and then transfer to your lodge for dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.
Day 5: Transfer to Kidepo valley national park.
On the 5h day of the safari, wake up early in the morning and enjoy breakfast, after breakfast you will check out from the lodge and then meet your safari guide and start on your journey to Kidepo valley national park that takes you approximately 8 hours’ drive with the en-route lunch along the way, despite the long drive distance Kidepo valley national park is the solely park to where you will experience the various wildlife and the park was ranked as the third best national park in Africa by CNN travel channel. Along the way you will explore the northern part of the country, then Karamoja region, Kitgum and then you will go into the valley of Kidepo national park. You will arrive in the evening and then check in your lodge be served with dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.
Day 6: Full day Kidepo valley national park experience.
Get up in the morning and enjoy breakfast, after breakfast you will catch the sun rise and then go for the morning game drive in the norther part of the park with your packed lunch, along the way you will drive to the Kanangorok hot springs through the palm trees along Kidepo River, as well during the game drive you will spot the ostriches, and other bird species then animal species like lions, cheetahs, giraffes, elephants, and others. You will spend time at the hot springs to where you will spend time moving around while spotting various wildlife around the area. After you will drive back to your lodge for dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.
Day 7: Fly to Kampala.
On the last day of the Uganda safari, wake up early in the morning and enjoy breakfast. After breakfast you will check out from your lodge and then meet your safari guide and start on your journey to the park’s airstrip with the en-route game viewing of lions, giraffes, antelopes, zebras, buffaloes and others. Your safari driver will drop you at Apoka Airstrip to get your charter flight back to Kajjansi or to Entebbe International Airport and catch the flight back home that will make your safari come to the end.
